Seriously, come on. R.E.M. didn't innovate one inch after setting their template, whereas Radiohead have not only managed to push the boundaries of popular music, but done it without alienating 99,9% of the listening public. That's an incredible achievement unrivalled in contemporary music. And if you aren't impressed by how they get a 5/8 to groove madly on the opening track of In Rainbows...well, then I can't help you.
