JC's Flatline Junkies : Demo CD

Catching this lot doing a second-on-the-bill spot down some toilet-circuit pub off Leicester Square last Wednesday (Kroneburg @ £3.10, Double JD + Coke in a pint glass £7.10) got me thinking.

In the same way that Shakespear wrote all the possible combinations of love/hate/fear/hubris and greed you can have over 400 years ago, any and all chord progressions have already been done, any decent riff you can come up cannot be original (cf Nirvana's Teen Spirit" vs Boston's "More Than A Feeling").

Follow it up with the thought that, as a teenager in a group, you've got no qualms about mix-and-matching the sounds that you subliminally picked up from Dad's music collection. To you, both (say) Joy Division AND (say) . . . er . . . The Supremes are ancient history.

And that is what's great about music, young peeps are putting sounds together that the oldies would never dare to.

Anyway . . . this lot were great, this was thrust into ADB's hand before you could say "Award nominated blog" 
and "Mrs Blade's a music journo". 

We're off into prog-land with this 6 track demo, killer tracks are they early-Floyd-with-flute influenced "Crawling Off The Sliproads", the rifftastic isnt-this-a-Hawkwind-cover "Flatline" and the 461-Ocean-Boulevard-but-reggea-tinged sound of "Lunatic".
