Just been borrowed and ripped UBS Dave’s CD singles (will be doing his albums next week) and a very nice collection of early/mid 90’s electronica it is too.

Here’s a couple of things for you

First The Grid – Texas Cowboys and Swamp Thing, both full of remixes that, to my knowledge, didn’t appear anywhere else.

Secondly Orbital – The Box (originally off In Sides) which seems to have been conceived as a sort of mini-album. Unually for the NME, they actually said something relevant about it in a review . . .

What you get with 'The Box' is a four- for- the- price- of- one bargain pack complete with sinister John Barry meets Charlie Chan thriller refrain, a wonderful piece of overblown harpsichord pomp, gently spooked knob-twiddling weirdness, irresistible crystal-clear techno riffs and angelic vocals. Action packed and well worth opening.
