After suriviving almost two weeks of the alcoholic boredom that is the City in the pre-Christman lull, my mothers birthday, a distinctly lacklustre gig from Dinosaur Jnr down the LA2 but a superb one by the MC5 (ok, the MC3 now with a Sister Of Mercy guitarist and a new front man), it’s time to start uploading again.

Picked these two up for a fiver.

New Order Sub Culture 12” Fact 133: - Vinyl rip @ 256 etc

It was the second and final single that also appeared on the group's album release of the same year, Low-Life. The mix (by John Robie) is different from the one that appears on the album. "Sub-culture" has only a regular black sleeve, as graphic designer Peter Saville reportedly deemed the mix of the song unworthy of his talents. The b-side is a remix titled "Dub-Vulture". "Sub-culture" also appears on the group's 1987 compilation, Substance.

In a rare reversal for most New Order tracks, the album edit is often preferred by fans over the 12" version, due to the addition of backing vocals and a protracted intro to the 12". This has to be compared to "The Perfect Kiss", where the 12" version is usually seen as by far the better edit.
